Broski to retire; Bradley free to move on to Western

“As long as I’m president, we will not move farther west than Maplewood,” Broski, 61, said in addressing [Arbor District] neighborhood fears that the landlocked school wants to keep expanding that way.”

– August 24, 2006, as reported in the Journal Star

In an e-mail sent to faculty and staff Thursday, David Broski said that he planned to retire in June.

That didn’t take long, now did it?

I am sure the neighborhood leaders of Moss-Bradley, the rump Arbors, and the Uplands, along with the council folk will put up a stiff fight, just like with maplewood, in defense of the spirit of the institutional zoning that Bradley agreed to. We all know that comfy lockerooms and private parking spaces for athletic entertainment is far more important than stable neighborhoods or **gasp** academics.

    Broski — “We’ve got a:

    (1)15-year master facility plan,…
(2)strategic plan accepted by the campus …

“I think we’ve built strong ties across community organizations, and I’m probably proud of that than most anything else,” he said.

So, CJ — what is in those plans? and it would seem that strong ties (transparent neighborly comuncation) with your neighbors is notpart of the approved plans.
