And some Cub fans now think the Cubs should trade for Peavy…….THE STARTING PITCHING ISN’T THE PROBLEM!!!!!

  • kcdad

Nah, the perfect result would have been for all of the players to donate 90% of their paychecks to the jobless and continue to play….

  • Billdozer

    Cucking Fardinals!

  • kcdad:wrong again,Commie-the perfect thing to do is for everyone to give 90% of their pay to the jobless-that would make Mr. Lenin happy wouldn’t it? This Memorial Day let’s remember those guys and gals who gave their lives (not their paychecks) for our country so that the above wouldn’t happen!

  • kcdad

GREAT point… in our culture, the paycheck is more important than life itself…

You realize of course that instead of their (on average) $2,000,000 salary, they would ONLY get $200,000 for playing a little kids game… $200,000 to play a stupid kids game so that alcohol, deodorant and other companies can advertise their products.

wacko, please… if you wish to insult me, try “dirty stinkin’ commie” or something like that. I find being called a commie in this culture infinitely less insulting than be called a capitalist or republican.

  • Janel

Exactly right, kcdad. But is this whole topic even relevant to this blog? Isn’t it supposed to be about Peoria issues? Must sports permeate every aspect of society?

  • I believe this blog is supposed to be whatever interests CJ.

  • Janel

Maybe he should call it “The CJ Chronicle”. :)
I guess we should just be glad that his interests are so wide and varied to give us all things to discuss.

    @Janel and kcdad

SNOOOOOOOOOOZE… keep your politics on the political blog entries!

For now let’s just talk about how the Cardinals can actually be proud of averaging 2.7 runs per game and take comfort in the fact that the good old Cubbies will still win the division.

  • Janel

I hope they do, Scruff, because it would make my husband happy.

  • [...] that mullet is quite attractive, too. Enjoy it while it [...]

  • kcdad

Scruff… we wouldn’t half the political issues we have if the men in this culture spent as much mental energy and resources on the issues facing us in society as they do on spoiled millions and their kids games.

What pitching records does Bob Gibson still hold for the Cardinals? How many team batting records does Stan Musial hold?

    Who friggin’ cares?

  • kcdad

“spoiled millionaires” not millions… sloppy sloppy

  • Scruff says: “For now let’s just talk about how the Cardinals can actually be proud of averaging 2.7 runs per game and take comfort in the fact that the good old Cubbies will still win the division.”

Yeah, the Cards’ runs per game were pretty low, but good enough to beat the Cubs’ average of 0.67 runs per game.

Also, I’m glad to see a Cubs fan that has realistic expectations (i.e., recognizing that the limit of their capability is winning the division). Usually Cubs fans entertain faniciful notions of winning the World Series, as if that were even remotely possible.

  • kcdad, Janel — “There is a time for everything . . . a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance . . . .”

Come on now, don’t be party poopers. A little lightheartedness is okay now and then.

  • Right you are C.J.

    Cardinals suck.

    Thpt!

    ;-)

  • Janel

CJ, You know I’m all for lightheartedness. Most men don’t take sports lightly though, and that’s where I have a problem. That and the ridiculous salaries, worship of sports players as heroes…I could go on and on.
And I don’t think the writer of Ecclesiastes had sports in mind when he wrote that. (Aren’t you sorry you gave me that Bible? :) )

  • When it comes to the Cubs the writer could honestly say “a time to weep and a time to mourn”
