Gone fishing

Well, I mean that metaphorically, actually.  I’ve only fished once in my life, and didn’t catch anything.

I need to unplug for a little while.  I’ve been getting a bit too obsessed with the blog lately, and, frankly, I’m unhappy with how my posts have been getting more and more negative.  So, it’s time to get away from it for a few days, clear my head a little, and contemplate the future of the Chronicle.

In the meantime, please enjoy the other fine writers on my blogroll, and have a great weekend!

  1. “contemplate the future of the Chronicle”?

    “Lighten up, Francis”

I don’t mean to blow smoke, but yours is one of the most informative and researched Peoria blogs. For my own selfish reasons, I hope you don’t stop the Chronicle. You do a great job.

Hang in there, Bill needs your material.

  2. Ha! That line did sound rather ominous, didn’t it? Sorry — didn’t mean I was thinking of quitting. I’m just contemplating what the Chronicle will look like in the future…. You know, I’ve never really thought about what the “mission,” if you will, of this site is, but I know it doesn’t include just hammering out long, angry diatribes against every public institution in town. I really want this to be something that adds value, and lately I don’t feel like it’s been doing that. So, I’m going to spend some time away from it this weekend and think about how to make it better, and more positive. I should be doing that now instead of writing comments, but I didn’t want everyone having the wrong impression all weekend. I’ll be back (much to some people’s chagrin, I’m sure)…. 🙂

  3. He’s not that far off, C.J. When you consistently write good stuff, you are going to get links.

Perhaps Mazr might want to consider writing something on his OWN blog once in a while …
