According to May 16th PJS, Jim Richerson is out as PRM CEO, with Debbie Ritschel named interim CEO. No opinion one way or the other from me,

Anyone know what Doug Oberhelman’s dog is named? I was told it is Dozer. Yep, he named the stadium after his dog. Maybe it’s fitting – dog of a public works project and all, but Proving Grounds that Dennis suggested is MUCH better.

New investors & owners doing an extensive 5 million dollar renovation upgrade;
Making the once glamorous Continental Regency
(most of you do not remember & Keith certainly knows nothing about)
into an up-scale Four Points by Sheraton…and beyond
(Four Points is an economy brand of the Starwood family of properties.

Imagine being told by Peoria City Hall…
“We don’t have the original building plans nor to do we have the “As Is Plans”
for new owners to do the 5 million private money renovations.

Imagine You must hire a contractor to measure the entire complex.
And you get LUCKY.. an old builder graciously accepts the challenge
REMEASURE the ENTIRE COMPLEX for a mere ……$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Yes he was the original builder…(Now you are catching on)
SHHHHHHSHHHHHHHH The new owners don’t know about this scam yet.

Imagine going to a CVB convention visitors meeting
where the Civic Center Authority Questionings…
“We have some concerns”
“REALLY”
“What kind of concerns”????
The group who purchased the hotel are Indians.
You should come and SPEAK to US…
WHY???????????????

Perhaps it’s because the new owners fired the management company for incompetency not being able to turn a profit$
It’s not personal it’s business.

Perhaps the “PLAN” was to invoke emanate domain, purchase the bankrupt property and resell it.
Oh there goes my imagination again….

The Civic Center Authority already knows according to their July 2012 meeting minute notes that only a 50% occupancy is needed to make a PROFIT!

People like MBD can cry about consolidation all they want. There’s no doubt that Peoria would have had an uphill battle if WYZZ & WAOE were to function separately. But in my opinion, WHOI could have continued to do good on it’s own had it remained under the ownership of Gray Broadcasting.

It’s interesting how the struggling and slightly smaller Rockford DMA has 3 separate news productions, and all 3 are broadcasting in HD. Not only that, but the QC & Springfield area stations also still have their 3 remaining competitors and they’re ALL broadcasting news in HD. Yet neither of the 2 remaining competitors in Peoria are broadcasting news in HD as of now.

If there was enough money in Rockford to maintain 3 stations and fully upgrade them, than I’m sure there should be enough money to split between the 2 Peoria entities that are running the show.

So yeah, they’re definitely making money. But when they cross the line where they’re no longer serving the public, that’s when it becomes pathetic & wrong. And the Peoria stations are now there. As a viewer, it pains me to see what corporate greed has done to the Peoria media market, and it hurts to know there’s nothing we can do but continue to watch time stagnate & decline.

So don’t play the financial card mbd. I know better. Anybody who looks at similarly-sized markets will know exactly where I’m coming from. BTW, do you happen to be Mark DeSantis Incognito?

You do realize that this are privately owned companies right? They exist to make money. Local tv stations are consolidating because they are barely staying afloat. The two biggest ones WEEK and WMBD are able to maintain themselves but WAOE and WYZZ couldnt so they had no choice but to enter into Joint services agreements. They still report the news to the best of their ability. You people do not understand how the real world works. Yes in a perfect world all the stations would be independent but the worlds not perfect.

Joe Dulin is a liar. unfortunately, code enforcement for profit already exists. Property owners in peoria can be cited and the fine is automatically assessed. If you contest it, you pay $250. I met mr dulin when one of his inspectors started harassing me. (inspector allen, who has a history of harrassment)

He assured me i could contest the order and it would not cost more than the $50 fine if i lost. This was a lie. He then lied when confronted with it. He is in no way capable of being a manager or director, and should be fired.
