Yeah, I know it wasn’t pretty. It’s fair to say that the Cardinals didn’t win the title, but that everyone else in the central division lost it. The Cardinals’ record is not stellar, but regardless, they’re in the post-season. And that’s good enough for me. I mean, if second-place teams can win the World Series, why not a first place team with a modest record?
Go Cardinals!
Tip of the cap to the Braves who kept STL from playing today and possibly Tuesday just to get in.
The extra rest should help Carpenter, who has struggled in his last two starts. Suppan has been solid for the Cards in past postseason games. The Cards with the off days may be able to get by with a three-man rotation, or start Reyes in one game. LaRussa would be wise to leave Marquis off the roster. I’ll go with the Padres in four.
I watched some of Saturday’s game, which is saying alot because I rarely watch baseball on tv, espcially of the enemy. Once Milwaukee scored two in a scoreless game I thought it was pretty much over. For the Card’s to come back in the bottom of the 8th with their backs against the wall to score 3 was drama at it’s highest.
AHhhhhh, ……. CJ The Yanks are also in the post season and I wouldn’t be surprised if the mode of transportation to the WORLD SERIES will be via subway. GO YANKEES ! ! ! ! ! ! !
