I usually use Firefox for my web browser. It’s leaner and less and annoying than Internet Explorer (IE). But recently I was on a computer that only had IE on it, so I looked up my blog and noticed that, while it still looked pretty normal, there were several things askew. The top of the page (where you can click on “home” and “e-mail” and “search”), for instance, is not centered vertically in the box. Also, the lines separating the different sections of my sidebar look like they’re sticking out the left side a bit.
My question is, has my blog always looked this way, or is this something new with IE7? I’m sure I checked this on IE before and it looked okay…. I’m not sure how to fix it, but I’ll see what I can do. It’s not a big deal, but it’s going to bug me now.
I fired up the IE7 and saw everything you did.

The only glitch I notice (using Fx 2.0 on Linux) is that your top link bar has the ’email’ link below the ‘log in’ link. I assume ’email’ is supposed to be on the same row as the others…
Firefox is leaner? Huh? It might be a smaller package but boy is it a hog on the processor. Who cares about smaller packages in the era of 80+ gig hard drives?
Your page looks great to me, using good ole IE.
Actually, if I wanted a super-fast browser I’d choose Epiphany or Opera over both Fx and IE. I haven’t done any scientific analysis, but the former two feel noticeably faster to me.
Your statement about package size vs. hard disk size mirrors my feeling about browser rendering speed vs. cpu and network speed. I consider all (mainstream) browsers to be functionally equivalent in terms of speed, so I choose based on other factors.

I only use IE for the very few sites that don’t work well with Firefox 2.0. IE is much more vulnerable to spyware.
