Thanks for posting the judicial results. That puts you one up on the Journal Star, which ignored these races all night.
Thank you for the information. I was waiting to see how things turned out.
Ditto what Billy said. The PJS just completely ignored the judicial results. Unreal.
Why do you have Marshall and Stark Counties as N/A in the judicial elections? That would be incorrect.
Anon: “N/A” in this case means “Not Available.” If you know where I can find them, please let me know. I’ve heard that final results on this race have been reported in the MSM, but I can’t find the vote totals anywhere online.
“Brimfield Community Unit School District 309 $13.9 million bond to build a new high school:”
Gotta get ready for more white flight from District 150…
complete primary results located on PJS website at:

I got Stark County info from the Stark County Newspaper.
I got Marshall county from the county clerk. All vote totals are in now.
I never could get that PDF from the Journal Star to download. Why couldn’t they just put it in the other totals on their front page?
Anon: Stark and Marshall County are in the 10th Judicial Circuit which also includes Peoria, Tazewell, and Putnam County.
Gotta love Vespa for getting the lowest Bar Rating and still winning the most votes. He may have gotten the lowest rating in the lawyer pols as blow-back by attorneys that did not like some of his older brother’s rulings. Unlike Barra, Judge Vespa was willing to take top law firms and particularly the States Attorneys Office to the woodshed when they took positions that were unreasonable.
Risinger looked to be well liked and had that blue collar, small family business and Peoria Rescue Ministries (evangelical) background that would play well in Tazewell County. My experience/observations with/of Umholtz was that her style and attitude was that of the sort of City of Peoria elite that would be behind the downtown museum. That would not favor her in a Tazewell County election. That wasn’t the impression I had of her husband.
Gorman – I recall her, as being as nice a person as her father John.
With Bruce T. or John Vespa, you were going to get a judge with a sense of humor and that is not a bad thing. By the way, I recall John Vespa being a huge G Gordon Liddy fan. A signed photo is one of his personal treasures.
I fully expect a school bond issue for Morton in November.
Should I be surprised that Schock obtained more votes than the rest of the other candidates combined? Is Schock really that good, or his competition that lousy? We can only hope he decides to run for president early and leave the seat open for someone who really gives a crap…
NV, it’s no surprise that the majority of voters in the area are Republican so it would make sense that more Republicans pull a primary ballot than Democrats. If you look across the board that is the case with Republican candidates vs Democrats locally. That isn’t to say that the other side of the ticket in the 18th race wasn’t really weak, because it was but that wasn’t the only reason for the discrepancy.
For the Congressional race, I think by the end of the campaign Schafer will beat Hirner. Schafer is respectable and true to his beliefs. As Hirner is exposed, she will drive good Democrats in droves over to the Green candidate, Schafer. I believe Schafer will exceed a record 10% and establishes the Greens very well for the future.
As for this election, think of this:
Colleen Callahan is from the heart of 18th District, was on radio for 25 years, had a long involvement in the number one industry-agriculture, knows a ton of people, is warm, held two fundraisers for LaHood in prior campaigns, was a true Democrat on the issues, and still lost big in a great year for Democrats and the Obama surge. And that was an election with no incumbent.
DK Hiner is from Missouri and only moved to Illinois a few years ago, lives outside the 18th District, knows few people, has had no community involvement in the 18th District, and is an icy person. She is running not in the Obama surge election year but in the Scott Brown surge year, and now Schock is an incumbent. Hirner’s current work for polluters and anti-union big business will drive scads of Democrats to the Green party. Where then is the arithmetic for a Hirner victory? Where is the arithmetic of Hirner surpassing Callahan’s 38% of the vote? There is none. Hirner actually might get less than 30%.
DK Hirners win solidified another Schock landslide. The Dems lost any shred of hope for an upset when they picked Hirner over Ray. Nice job!
11Bravo,
Yep.
Sorry, but they didn’t have any better chance with Ray.
isa: Hirner won. (54%) So much for blogger analyze.
11Bravo,
Oh… I hear what you are saying. It does pain me though. That is why I am going to move to Massachusetts where they know how to treat their Democrats! Wait a minute…………………
Schock needs to go. We need more Dem (or Green Party) votes and Schock is irresponsible and unwise. Let’s all get behind a true intellectual and serious human being who cares deeply about the environment and human beings, Sheldon Schafer. I am so sick of connected politicians.
Tulip – then get on out there and start stumping for Mr. Schafer and good luck!
“But it appears that the GOP has embraced the idea now that Schock, acting as a spokesman for the Illinois GOP tied Kirk’s campaign directly to the Massachusetts special election.”

OMG… Schock = Spokesman???? Kirk = Scott Brown????
