It looks like the neighbors of Glen Oak Park are happy with the money they’re getting from the school district. Another two houses have been sold, one of them for $120,000 — about $30,000 over the fair market value of the home. I guess you could say the district made an offer they couldn’t refuse. When you have the hammer of eminent domain hanging over your head, the smart thing to do is take the money and run, if you get a good enough offer.

They will probably take that money and run to Dunlap or Germantown Hills. Then there won’t be any kids to even go to the new school.
You mean the property tax payers just had an offer of $120,000 accepted for an $86,000 home didn’t you? It’s easy to make offers like that when District 150 has the taxpayers are picking up the tab.
At least they identified who the sell outs were. I am sure there will be lots of neighborly love in the coming days n weeks.
Don’t worry. They will all sell out eventually. This is no different than over by Bradley. No matter how much people say they are not leaving, eventually the money wins.
Eventually the money may win, but we all lose because of it.
