No liveblogging tonight

Ten years ago today at 4:11 a.m., my first child was born — a beautiful baby girl. I’ll be spending the evening celebrating with her and the rest of my family, and worry about City business some other time. Have a wonderful evening, everyone!

  1. Karrie, the problem is not the toys, it is the addictive nature of Mcdonalds food itself.

Why would anyone pay between $12 and $16 per pound (NOT including the water injected into the beef) for a hamburger with sugar and fat ADDED? Fried in fat potatoes with beef flavoring and sugar ADDED?

There is little nutritional value, empty calories and real physical withdrawal from eating Mcdonalds.

Convenient? How long does it take 7 or 8 cars to get through a drive through?

btw, for $1.50, most stores will sell you the toy without the food.

  2. fine Charlie but let me make the choice myself if I want to eat it or let my kids eat McDonalds.

  3. Happy birthday! Some things will always be more important than local politics.

Well, most things actually, but you know…

  4. CJ Happy Birthday to your daughter. And you are proving once again that there is nothing more important than family. Stick with it you are doing an excellent job.

  5. “let me make the choice myself”

What do you know about Mcdonalds’ food? How do you expect to get informed about it? You obviously won’t listen to people who know something about it.
You going to use the Mcdonalds’ commecials for your source of information?

If you let your kids eat Mcdonalds more than once a month, you should be charged with child abuse.

  6. No, you misunderstand me. You may go to Mcdonalds any time you like. Eat all of that crap you want. Just don’t teach your kids to.

  7. “If you let your kids eat Mcdonalds more than once a month, you should be charged with child abuse.”

    Really????

  8. Yes. Wanna argue why you should ALLOW or ENCOURAGE your children to eat empty sugar and fat calories and pay up to 10 times what grocery store prices are for REAL food?

  9. So why would you go to any resturant if paying more than the grocery store prices is a problem? Also whats to say a parent won’t make something unhealthy at home instead? Do you plan on dictating what people feed their children at home too?
