I hope you didn’t get that info directly from Randy himself… cause it might be a lie.
” If, AT SECOND, You don’t succeed…. Try, Try, again! “
I thought that he “wasn’t looking” for another position….
county administator’s position Sun Jan 27, 2008 7:59 am
When I first heard that Bob MacLaughin was put into George Touart’s position on an interim bases, my first thought was he is the shoe-in for the position. Yes they set up interviews and such, but by their own bylaws and by HR standard it has to be done…even if they have their mind set on someone already.
Then they received a resume from “Charlie”. Charlie’s resume runs circles around MacLaughlin’s and MacLaughlin’s pales in comparison. Charlie’s education, work experience, organization, love for his job, finding the right people to help make his goals work, his degrees in CPA and engineering, his ability to take counties and cities near bankruptcy and getting them up and running in black, his ability to cut expenses without losing the quality of production. This as a taxpayer is what I have heard the BOCC wants for this county. We will not get it unless we bring a good qualified person into the position that actually knows how to work it. This man has implemented some changes in personnel without compromising good service. He has the commendations to verify this. This man has done a tremendous job throughout his career. There are a lot of you who like MacLauglin and you consider him a friend; however you cannot base that on him being the best man for the job. Just compare resumes and the answer is right there. So please take the time and reread the top two contenders again, this time without the rose colored glasses on. It is time to revamp our county government again and how we promote. People should be given a job on their qualifications alone and not because they are well liked, or a friend or a friend. It should be someone that will turn this county around so it can stand on it’s two feet and not be the laughing stock of the state of florida, but that is another story.
Tell the whole story. There were two inside candidates. The one chosen has to go to managment and sensitivity training in order to get the job. I don’t care either way but lets get the truth in here somewhere. I have live all over the world and there are two or three posters here who hate CAT or anyone who is sucessful.
Cat’s got your tongues now that all the info is there. Leave the council, Holling and Oliver alone unless you have some facts and not vicious speculation. Many have stated that some of the meanest and mostspeculative comments come from very few people but they do it over and over. Let us stick to opinions and facts, name calling went out in first grade, na na na na na!
