Did you know that there has been an engine crossing both Adams street and Jefferson street? Could not tell what they were doing but I did see them looking at the track and a crew checking out the lights across the street.
Anyone notice the J Star today? LST seems to have drawn a record crowd. I am still wondering if anyone [fomer mayors, city council, museum group] regrest not having jumped on the chance to acquire this ship for Peoria. Would have been a great addition to riverfront, as well as a hell of a museum. Call me crazy, but saving $60, $70, $80 million might have been…..a good thing? What can I say?
Richard,
The new owner of the Nyle Staley Interstate Ready Mix plant wants rail service so what you saw are probably preparations to restore service a short distance up the line.
Perhaps the City can use some of it CDBG overage $$, to address the Lead-based paint poisoning issues currently looming over the heads of it’s most at risk population.
(But they don’t vote).

Hey Doc, is lead paint still a big issue in Peoria?
