An ah-hah experience?
I doubt it. Would that they were that insightful. No, most likely they will write an editorial lashing out at CIRY, PIRY, rail advocates, grassy-knoll shooters, and anyone else they can blame for the “failure” of the city to kill a viable and operating rail line in favor of a money-losing trail for the park district — a park district that already has 9,000 acres of land in Peoria County that it evidently can’t adequately maintain (if Glen Oak Park is any indication).
I’m sure there was much weeping, wailing, and gnashing of teeth among the editorial writers today.
The Journal Star was caught off guard too. The best they could come up with was “pro-trail” Dick Carver.
That pathetic, buried article with that inane comment by Dick Carver shows so well that this is a propaganda rag, not a newspaper. The old editors of Pravda would be proud
Last I heard, and this is rumor until proven, is that all of Dick Carver’s expenses are being paid by the Park District. So hence the pro-trail remarks.
