The ad hoc committee looking at the City’s sign ordinance meets once a month, and their July meeting is on the 27th. Here is the agenda:
SIGN REVIEW COMMITTEE MEETING
TUESDAY, JULY 27, 2010
456 FULTON STREET, SUITE 402
10:00 AMAGENDA
- DISCUSSION OF MARYSVILLE, WASHINGTON MUNICIPAL SIGN CODE COMPARISON
- DISCUSSION OF SIGN AREA
- Current regulations
- Examples of issues
- Suggested revisions
- NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 10:00 am.
The meeting is open to the public; however, there is no public comment portion of the meeting.
Two questions CJ:
Why always meet at a time when working people cannot attend?
Why is there no public comment allowed?
Because working people asked too many questions. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Paul — First, I don’t know the official answer, but I’ll offer my conjecture: (1) Because to have the meeting in the evening would require staff to work overtime and the city can’t afford the personnel cost, and (2) because there will be ample time for public input when the Zoning Commission has a public hearing on any proposed changes and then again when any proposed changes come before the Council.
No more billboards. None. If an old one needs repair, it goes away.
This won’t hurt any business. It will eventually help Peoria to look better.
I attended the meeting on Aug. 24. It was very educational. I would like to attend others, but I don’t know if I could attend all of them. What I want to know, is it always the 4th Tuesday of the month? and is there someplace where I could find out what the egenda is for each meeting? Please advise. Thank you.
