There’s a new TV channel in Peoria. Antenna TV, a new network owned and operated by Tribune Broadcasting in Chicago, is now being broadcast over-the-air on channel 59.2, a sub-channel of WAOE. “The network features classic television programs and favorite movies,” and just debuted the beginning of this year according to the network’s website. I just discovered it over the weekend as it was showing “The Partridge Family,” “The Monkees,” and other classic shows.
WAOE (“my59”) is an affiliate of MyNetworkTV, owned by Four Seasons Broadcasting, and operated by Granite Broadcasting. Granite Broadcasting is reportedly going to impose its “last, best, and final” contract on union employees at its Peoria stations this Saturday, July 16.

What channel will it be on if you have comcast?
It appears this channel is not currently available on Comcast. Neither Comcast’s site nor WAOE’s site lists a Comcast channel number for this subchannel. The AntennaTV site shows “TBA” for the cable channel, so perhaps they’re still negotiating getting it on cable.
Good post.
Now, wait a minute. Someone wants to find “Antenna TV” on cable?
I get the channel, free. I have an antenna because I refuse to pay Comcast. Free TV, what a concept!!
My sons love the Monkees show! Retro TV via an antenna reception! Very cool!
Caught an episode of Hazel the other day. Loved it! Free TV has advantages. Two extra PBS channels (World & Create), two extra FOX music video channels (pop & country). The channels are not on cable or satellite, but with a digital tuner & antenna the choices are pretty good.
The 2 extra WTVP Channels, World & Create, are available on Comcast if you subscribe to the Digital Starter (correct name?) package.
I know the 2 Fox channels are not on Comcast (yet).
Comcast channels for Create and World are 218 and 219
When will the ‘public access’ channel be available to the public without having to pay a Comcast toll? I noticed recently that there is now a 47.4 placeholder but with nothing broadcast there yet.
Mahnko, if there was a way that non-cable subscribers could receive
the public access channel without paying for cable, I would be
150% in favor of it.
