Heartland Partnership rolls out new survey

The Heartland Partnership is conducting a survey of what people think of the tri-county area. However, they only want to know what things you like about the region, not what you don’t like. So the purpose of the survey appears to be an effort to get some good marketing quotes and some statistics on what area residents like best the region. It’s only 10 questions, so it doesn’t take long to complete. Here’s the info:

The Peoria metropolitan area; including Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties; would like your help gathering information to better market our region.

Log on to www.peoriametrosurvey.com and take a few moments to complete our brief survey. Tell us what you think about living in the Peoria metro area. You can also register to win a prize package. This brief survey has only 10 questions and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. We look forward to hearing from you!

Help us take the pulse of the Peoria Area and be sure to pass the survey on to your friends and contacts!

  1. I took the survey. For the most part I was very positive. I feel they missed an important question…

Why aren’t more people moving here? For instance, I added that my children do not have job opportunities here. Caterpillar has stopped hiring. They also hire more and more contract workers when they do hire. The hospitals may be hiring, but my kids aren’t doctors. I wonder how many people my age, who have grown children, enjoy the fact that their children have stayed and made Peoria their home as well.

We have depended on Caterpillar since their inception. I think those days are over and we need to look to the future and bring in other businesses.

  2. I hope the people from Tazewell and Woodford counties take the survey and point out they like their county.

  3. I suggested delusional… if anyone thinks there is just one “Peoria area” society.

  4. I went with “highly juxtaposed”. I also considered “schizophrenic” but was trying to be polite.

  5. I went with narcissistic and megalomaniac for policy decisions and long term strategic planning( ie no long term vision/mission statement from the heart of our community that Peoria officials will carry out).

What I love about Peoria are the people — very warm, kind hearted and generous. Sadly and regrettably, the citizens are the most underutilized resource of our fair city.

  6. I took it, but doubt my responses will be appreciated. How about “bi-polar sociopath” for the personality (dysfunctional though it may be)?
