If I were tasked with picking out a tool that would illustrate “elevator renovations,” one that definitely does not spring to mind is “hammer.” Maybe that’s just me.

The hammer is any maintenance persons favorite tool – if it cannot be fixed with a hammer, then you can make sure NO ONE can fix it and make you look bad.
I would be nervous if the elevator guys showed up with hammers. Most of the elevator guys I’ve seen (and I used to work on the 54th floor of a building in Seattle) mostly carried wire type stuff.
