  1. Plans are in the works right now for a Parent – School Board meeting at Kellar this Thursday evening at 5:15. School Board members will be present to answer questions from the parents regarding proposed primary school changes relating to 1. shortened instructional hours and 2. the termination of gym, computer, science and art teachers. Hope lots of parents are there. More details to follow!

  2. No Phys Ed, no Computer Classes, no Science, and no Art. What is left to teach? Where to spend your Walmart paycheck?

  3. I see a Chinese ship loaded with weapons destined for the dictator of Zimbabwe is wandering around the Atlantic looking for a place to dock to unload its cargo. A British sub is reportedly shadowing it. Too bad the Brits don’t have the guts to blow it out of the water. Just keep spending money at WalMart, the Chinese need the money so they can buy a port and send more weapons to dictators.

  4. Random observation. I was following a CiyLink bus the other day and thought what a big pile of crap. It was spewing black smoke and looked like parts of several old buses that had been put together to make this one. It didn’t even have the CityLink logo on it. There were people riding it though so it was the real deal. I know it is just public transportation but do they not have someone that pays attention to the buses appearances? They look almost as bad as River City’s old Lincoln cabs. What an embarrassment.

  5. How about this internet horse racing proposal? One quote I heard: the legislature is hesitant to do anything about it because there is no state law expressly permitting it. So… if the state doesn’t say we CAN do something than it is illegal? Wow. What a great country! (Is there a law allowing breathing in public?)

  6. PeoriaFan,

We learned not too long ago that CityLink has to keep buses running for 12 years in order to get federal dollars to help replace them with new ones. Twelve years is a LONG time for a bus engine. That said, the maintenance on them is horrible. There is no reason for them to spew so much soot out, as they do. It just highlights how ill tuned they are.

People want their buses cheap at a $1 a ride. One dollar !!! Can’t buy good maintenance or new buses on a buck. Most city’s with well functioning bus systems charge $2-$5.

  7. Don’t like the gas prices?

Citylink charges $300 a year for unlimited riding. $300 !!
