Ladies and gentlemen, you have the floor. Speak your mind.

My only message is at this time of year please be careful of fire dangers. All the extra lights plugged in. Make sure that all plugs are pushed in all the way. Make sure no papers, decorations, ragged carpet or pet hairs can get in between the plug and the receptical. Don’t use small extension cords for space heaters. Even the tip over proof kind can start a fire if plugged into the wrong type of extension cord. Also if something falls on it a fire can start. Don’t leave your house with the lights on and the washer or dryer running all at the same time. Some of the older homes are simply not set up to handle the overload. Running your microwave, washer, dryer, furnace and christmas lights can just overwhelm an electrical system. Same goes for all those games you get for christmas. Make sure they are unplugged after you and the kids play with them. Don’t just shut them off, unplug them. Also they take juice even when off and that costs you money. Cell phone battery chargers take juice even when not in use and have been know to cause fires. Please beware and make this a happy, safe holiday season for everyone. Especially for our fire department personnel.
DONATE MONEY TO WTVP. I suppose making payments on time doesn’t mean anything. That is like my credit union taking away my car because I am a un-tenured educator meaning I could be laid-off or let go without warning. If you like good educational programming that is a value to the community, give money. The word on the street is if you call the station and pledge, then you are not held accountable for it until after March 1st, therefore if the station goes dark on Jan. 15, then you don’t feel like you were “burned.” This is also an effort to prove to Bank of America in good faith that the community supports the station. Also, all you CAT employees: CAT will match your donation. Ask about it. Save the station and if anything this holiday season, think about possible jobs lost.
Bank of America: I understand business is business but I am baffled as to why the sudden reason to call in the loan TWENTY YEARS EARLY?!?
Thanks,
JB
IF the loan agreement stated — make your payments on time and obtain the following pledge terms (as in the fine print of the contract) — so it appears that WTVP would be in default of the loans on the second part of the contract.
Correct?
As to why the sudden reason to call in the loan TWENTY YEARS EARLY??? As is the standard MO in P-town — follow the money trail and you might pick-up some clues.
All I can say is that I agree with Jazzbass support WTVP as they provide quality of educational programs. Keep Sesame Street to Masterpiece Theatre. WTVP is like a legend we all grew up with it before cable..
Thank you
Bring back Monty Python and I might buy a coffee mug.
