  1. I wonder if they will have city officials, Senator Dale Risinger, and Representative Dave Leitch for a hearing on the Penn ave. project?

  2. most likely not Marty, Koehler is the Senator and Aaron is the state rep.
what are the plans for Pennsylvania?

  3. WIDEN THE ROAD FROM KNOXVILLE TO WAYNE, CLOSE ONE END OF NEW YORK TO PENN, A ROUND ABOUT (I THINK), RE- CONFIGURE THE WAYNE,NEW YORK, ARMSTRONG INTERSECTION. AQUIRE PROPERTY. THS IS A MAJOR PROJECT SLATED FOR THE 2009 SEASON. I WAS INFORMED THAT THIS WILL NOT BE PED FRENDLY LIGHTING. WILL IT INCOURAGE THE NEW “WALK TO WORK” PLANS? I GUESS THIS MAY BE NOT WORTHY OF HI PROFILE PEOPLE ATTENDING THESE HEARINGS WHEN THEY ARE SCHDULED(IN THE NEAR FUTURE)

  4. I don’t know details, but I do drive down this road often and am excited about improvements. It is really narrow. I always think, if someone swerves a little bit, I would have nowhere to go to get out of the way. I would be in a ditch.

  5. Marty,

For the record, I doubt you’ll see many “hi profile” folks talk about Pennsylvania because it isn’t a state road. The Northmoor thing is using State funds so you are going to get the usual suspects. I hope they don’t widen Penn (and I hope the HOPC steps in, toothless as they may be). But something should be done w/ that intersection at Wayne Hill and Glen Oak — it’s pretty bad. A round-a-bout would be a great idea, but I wonder how they work when one direction is down/up a steep hill.

  6. State funds (mft funds)and approval will be needed and sought for the Pennsylvania ave project. I was informend of this by the COP. It is in the state IDOT hands now for review and appoval. This project is in 1)Heart of Peoria, 2)Ren-Park and who knows what other plan. I agree the road needs improvement but it should embrace a pedestrian side and a neighborhood side like other streets with lighting like Main Street was done.Bright streetlights, sidewalks and traffic calming. The “milestone” project allong with the change of traffic with OSF is putting more traffic in the streets and in the neighborhood.
