On WEEK’s screen crawl tonight, it says the “Spook River Public Library Dist.” will be closed tomorrow. I guess the folks in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, haven’t read any Edgar Lee Masters lately.
UPDATE: They got it fixed by the time Jimmy Fallon aired. Still funny, though.
I remember a few years ago WEEK was doing a story in Lacon and they spelled it Laken. They have had many many errors, including city election results (I remember Mac’s disgusted look), so altho people in Ft Wayne may not know central Illinois geography, many CI people arent much better. My cousin used to do the news for them and I teased her all the time on the errors they had.
Spork River would have been even slightly awesomer.
Logically, they should have called it “Spock River.”
The mistakes seen on Peoria tv almost daily is amazing. I guess I was spoiled living in Chicago and having professionals doing the news.
This morning, there was a local commercial and when the commercial was over it went to Gary Moore ending his newsbreak.
