Vonster: At large. Next year all five at large council seats are up for election. Three incumbents are running (Turner, Spain, Sandberg) and two are not (Montelongo, Jacob). There are ten candidates vying for the five at large council seats, and they’ll appear on the ballot in the following order: Chuck Weaver, Chuck Grayeb, Ryan Spain, Eric Turner, Jim Stowell, George Azouri, Beth Akeson, Andre Williams, C. J. Summers, and Gary Sandberg.
Peoria practices “cumulative voting” for at large elections. Each voter gets five votes, and those votes can be cast one of these ways:
* Vote for 5 candidates (each candidate gets 1 vote)
* Vote for 4 candidates (each candidate gets 1¼ votes)
* Vote for 3 candidates (each candidate gets 1⅔ votes)
* Vote for 2 candidates (each candidate gets 2½ votes)
* Vote for 1 candidate (the candidate gets all 5 votes)
