Discussing the issues is vital to the healthy functioning of our community.
I truly believe that our community could become better if we had more prolonged dialogue about issues and talked about the issues and solutions and then took action rather than avoiding the tough discussions and decisions. It does take a plan and time — people feeling safe to participate. Sometimes the blog discussions get rough and tumble and personal disclosure of addresses and such is really not necessary.
Our most unutilized resource in our community is our people and their talents.

The challenge always remains the same —- open, inclusive and transparent process. Scarcity vs. abundance mentality. That would make for true progress in Peoria.”
2. Acknowledge you were wrong here, in understanding and in implication:

3. And if you promise to mention this when you run for city council:

That’s complete BS Scott, the burden of proof ( and in turn the burden of producing the data) is on Dr. Scott and Dr. Lewer. Not Karrie and the two professors would expect no less of any student producing a similar report in one of their classes. If they were interested in completely addressing the criticism of their report they would have already posted the data on the internet or some other public domain.
I’m with 11Bravo… it’s up to Dr. Scott and Dr. Lewer to present a solid case and defend it not the other way around.

I agree with the woulda, coulda, shoulda sentiment. I know I ponied up $100 in support as I believed in the cause. We didn’t have the deep pockets that the BTB group did by a long shot! Our side lost and yes, I regret it. I feel the vast majority of those 15,000+ who voted yes were duped. OTOH for the nearly 70% of registered voters who didn’t even bother to get off their sorry butts to vote one way or the other then they deserve every tax they have to pay and pay and pay over the next 20 years. And lastly – I want to acknowledge the efforts of Karrie Alms, who has been the major player in the resistance/education effort. She has had the broad shoulders and backbone that makes her an admirable citizen in my book!
I admire Ms. Alams tenacity as well. It’s hard to go up against deep pockets such as Diane Vespa. Who, really, only have a vested interest in the community so long as it sells houses.

Lakeview and everyone involved with this museum project, including the BU professors, have been operating from behind a smoke screen since this project began years ago. When Karrie’s Army went on the offensive, PRM almost went belly-up.

Just amazing that federal legislators are looking for money for projects which do not seem to have been discussed in a public forum so the citizens know what the real priorities are for our fair city.
